Individual counseling at Solace is a supportive, down-to-earth space where you can show up exactly as you are. We’ll work together to understand what’s been weighing on you and help you move toward greater clarity, balance, and self-trust.
I use a collaborative approach that blends EMDR, somatic therapy, and emotion-focused, compassion-based modalities. This means we don’t just talk about your experiences — we help your nervous system process and heal them.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. By using bilateral stimulation (tapping, eye movement, hand held buzzers, tones), EMDR supports the brain in processing stuck memories so they feel less overwhelming and more resolved. As this happens, emotional distress often decreases, and you can begin to feel more grounded, clear, and like yourself again.

Viktor Frankl
At Solace Counseling, I believe that even in the midst of overwhelming emotions, there is a small but powerful space between what happens to us and how we respond. As Viktor Frankl so beautifully described, “Between stimulus and response there is a space…”—and it is within that space that meaningful change becomes possible.
In our work together, we gently expand that space. Through approaches like EMDR, somatic awareness, and compassion-based therapy, we slow things down enough to notice what’s happening in your mind and body, without judgment. Rather than reacting automatically from old patterns or past wounds, you begin to access a deeper awareness of your internal experience—your emotions, beliefs, and needs. From there, we work collaboratively to help you respond in ways that feel more aligned with who you are and how you want to live. Over time, this process can foster a greater sense of choice, self-trust, and emotional freedom. You are not just reacting to life—you are actively shaping it.
